Questions answered.

What device do I need to use Express Mode with Apple Pay?

You will need an iPhone 8 or later with iOS 13.6 or later, or an Apple Watch Series 3 or later with watchOS 6.2.8 or later.

Can I pay with Apple Pay on both iPhone and Apple Watch?

Yes. Just make sure that you have added a payment card to your iPhone and Apple Watch. You can add a card to Apple Watch with the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.

Can I use Express Mode for other payments?

No. Express Mode can only be used with OMNY readers at MTA bus and subway stations. Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode will still be required when using Apple Pay at other locations.

Can I use weekly or monthly unlimited ride passes with my device?

No. You can only pay for single rides.

What happens if a MetroCard and my device are accidentally charged at the same time?

This is called card clash. To ensure that only your chosen payment method is charged, always keep your physical MetroCard separate from your Apple devices when paying at an OMNY reader.
