Bay Area: In order to use Clipper with Apple Pay on SFMTA cable cars, and other transit services using handheld card readers, all customers must authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID; Boston: To use Express Transit in Boston, you need a debit or credit card set up in the Wallet app and set as your Express Transit card. Not accepted on commuter rail, commuter ferry, regional transit authorities, paratransit, parking, and non-MBTA affiliate mobility services. In order to receive a reduced fare benefit, you must enroll your payment card in your reduced fare program. Visit mbta.com for more information; Chicago: To add Ventra card to Wallet, you need the Ventra app downloaded. Ventra transit cards in Wallet are not accepted on Pace paratransit or Metra; New York: To use Express Transit in New York, you need a debit or credit card set up in the Wallet app and set as your Express Transit card. Not accepted on AirTrain JFK, Access-A-Ride, or for onboard fare payment on LIRR or Metro-North; Philadelphia: To use Express Transit in Philadelphia, you need a debit or credit card set up in the Wallet app and set as your Express Transit card. Payment cards can only be used to pay for full-fare trips on SEPTA Bus and Metro but not on Regional Rail; Portland: To add Hop card to Wallet, you need the Hop Fastpass app downloaded. Only for purchase of adult full fares; San Diego: To use Express Mode with a Mastercard, Visa, or Discover debit or credit card in Wallet on PRONTO transit readers in San Diego, you need an iPhone SE (2016) or iPhone 6s or later with iOS 12.3 or later, or an Apple Watch Series 1 or later with watchOS 5.2.1 or later. Contactless debit and credit cards from Mastercard, Visa, or Discover can only be used to pay for full-fare trips on PRONTO transit readers in San Diego. Amtrak does not accept contactless payments; Seattle: To use Express Mode with a Mastercard, Visa, American Express, or Discover debit or credit card in Wallet on ORCA transit readers in the Puget Sound Region, you need an iPhone SE (2016) or iPhone 6s or later with iOS 12.3 or later, or an Apple Watch Series 1 or later with watchOS 5.2.1 or later. Contactless debit and credit cards in Wallet can only be used to pay for full-fare trips on ORCA transit readers in the Puget Sound Region. Every individual transit rider needs to use a unique debit or credit card. Only debit and credit cards from Mastercard, Visa, or Discover are accepted by ORCA transit readers. Contactless debit and credit cards in Wallet cannot be used on the following transit lines in the Puget Sound Region: Seattle Monorail, Washington State ferries, King County Metro DART, Community Vans and MetroFlex, Community Transit DART, Zip Shuttle, Pierce Transit Shuttle and Runner, and Everett Transit Paratransit; Washington, DC: SmarTrip transit cards in Wallet are not accepted on MARC, VRE, or MTA vehicles.
